Principals Message
Dear Lake Forest South Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am excited to welcome both new and returning families to another wonderful year at Lake Forest South Elementary School. It is truly an honor to serve as your principal and to continue working alongside our incredible students, staff, families, and community.
As both a Lake Forest graduate and a former South student, this school holds a special place in my heart. This year marks my 13th year in the Lake Forest School District. I began my career as a paraprofessional right here at South. I then taught Kindergarten at Lake Forest North before serving as Assistant Principal at South. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue leading the school that helped shape who I am.
At South, our mission is to ensure every child feels safe, supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. We are committed to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success, and I look forward to working together throughout the year.
This year, we will continue to focus on our school wide affirmation, which guides our expectations and shapes our school culture. At South, we encourage all of our students to stay on TRACK by:
Trying Their Best
Respecting Others
Acting Responsibly
Controlling Themselves
Kindness Toward Others
These values are at the heart of everything we do. You will see them reflected in classroom instruction, daily interactions, and school wide celebrations and events.
I cannot wait to welcome our students back and begin another exciting year of learning and growth! My door is always open, and I value your thoughts, questions, and ideas as we work together to make this a successful school year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at sarah.huber@lf.k12.de.us or by phone at (302) 398-8011 ext. 603.
Here is to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year at Lake Forest South where we stay on TRACK and grow together!
Warmly,
Sarah Huber, Ed.D.
Principal
